Why might you need a changeable sign in your school?

10-07-2014

Changeable signs and notice board flyers are increasingly produced in house due to the need to reduce printing costs. Schools are investing in reusable poster frames as most have a low initial cost and are economic because they are reusable. They have many uses in schools from general notices and dinner menus to student's art work and classroom number door signs. The first thing that needs to be considered is how many posters do you want to display in the one frame? Both single and multiple poster displays can be achieved but a different type of frame is required for each. If it's just the single poster you want to display then a Snap Frame would be a perfect choice; these simple and low budget frames are available widely. However if you want to display multiple posters then a hinged door or open fronted notice board is what you are after. Indoors or out? Next you need to consider where you are thinking of using your poster frame or door sign, is it for indoor or outdoor use? Indoor frames are usually slightly cheaper due to manufacturers not having to waterproof the frame; there is also a wider range from which to choose. For outdoor display then you have a few options. The first would be a waterproof snap frame; these are like standard snap frames but with a waterproofing gasket running around the edges of the frame. Laminate frames are also available. These hold laminated size pieces of paper, again making your sign waterproof. Both ways are effective, it's just down to personal preference and your willingness to use a laminator. Keeping it safe! To keep up with customers' changing needs, signage suppliers have evolved many products, improving security whilst not compromising on function. Look out for lockable or tamper-proof snap frames; products which need a key or lever tool to open, helping to keep opportunistic students at bay. If the metal click or snap frame is not your preferred option, then a shatter resistant polycarbonate sign may be the answer. These frames have been developed to be difficult to open unless you know how, usually sporting a hidden pop open button. This feature makes these frames secure as well as an attractive door sign option for schools. Curved aluminium frames are also available, they are supplied with a flexible polycarbonate front lenses which can be removed with a sucker and the sign changed. As well as being secure, the door or wall sign needs to be easy to change. Although some frames may only have their poster or insert changed once a year, others may be as frequent as once a day. School signs such as edge snap signs are very quick and easy to change, having a front cover and two snapping rims to keep the poster in place, this type of sign can take under 30 seconds to change. Most frames now offer an adhesive tape alternative to screwing as a method of application. This alternative means that unsightly screw holes will not be created in your classroom wall or door. This method is just as effective and permanent as screwing as long as correct procedures are followed. Green Magic Co are experts at providing quality changeable door signs and notice boards.
