3 extremely good customer service examples and how the customer experience began

10-07-2014

Over the past 6 months I have experienced some excellent customer service and they all have one thing in common, let me explain: 1. The Car Garage - Walking past a local car garage I see a pavement sign advertising their MOT and repair services at very affordable prices. A few days later I notice that my front tyre treads are extremely low and remember the car garage's sign and find the company online to book my car in for 2 new front tyres. I turn up at the car garage to get this fixed and the extremely helpful technician asks me to sit in the waiting area where there are big comfortable seats, a selection of Top Gear magazines, a vending machine and large plasma TV's with comedy programs on to keep you entertained while you wait for your new tyres to be fitted. All in all a very enjoyable experience and one that I will definitely be going back again for future car repairs. 2. The Barbers - Heading home from the shops I pass an water filled sign board displaying the barber's costs and a free hair cut after every 5 cuts. On the off chance, I walk in and ask if he has a free space, to which he kindly shows me to the seating area, provides me with the WiFi code to browse the web on my phone while I wait and gives me a free cup of coffee. He cuts my hair, to exactly what I asked for and after paying him he provides me with a loyalty card and puts a stamp on the card and advises me that after every 5 stamps I would get a completely free hair cut! An absolute 5 star service which I would recommend to anyone. 3. The Indian Restaurant - Walking through town one evening I spot a very colourful A-board outside an Indian restaurant. A friend and I decide to go in to see if there are any free tables. The waiter sits us down in the waiting area, we wait for 10 minutes and there are still no tables free. The waiter recognises that we are still waiting and offers us a complimentary drink for both of us on the house. Another 5 minutes pass and he offers us a second complimentary drink each. We sit down and enjoy a delicious meal and notice a couple on the table next to us are sitting on a larger table with spare seats. They are very politely asked to move to a smaller table to accommodate a larger group of customers on their table. They agree and get free poppadoms, chutneys and naan bread. An outstanding service all round.
