WHATS IN A NAME ?

29-11-2020

Office workspace has changed rapidly over recent years, moreover in size and privacy. Office rooms allocated to individual employees seem to be fading and larger corporate companies are opting for multi open plan workspaces. With sometimes 100's of staff desks formed around cubicles of some sort with little or no privacy. It's not surprising then that door name plates are diminishing and other styles of nameplates and name plate holders are taking over. Like name badges, name plates fulfil a corporate function and service by identifying key personel or areas within the organisation and also re-inforce a corporate identity,. So how exactly do you find these people or areas when in a malaise of desks, floor and floor? who knows, but it is made much easier with a variety of wall, door, desk name signs/plates to pave the way. Modern open plan offices for sectors such as CALL CENTRE's, MERCHANT BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES and the TRAVEL industry all accommodate huge numbers of people that would benefit from having their own desk name plates or name tags. The sign industry would love to help them, but.there is a confusion as it's not clear exactly what to ask for when you want them for these areas. I have often heard of requests for 'magnetic' name plates, swing nameplates and privacy plates. WE THINK IT SHOULD BE KEPT SIMPLE , a desk nameplate that is free standing and sits on the desk/table, a monitor nameplate, that sits ontop of a computer screen, a hookover screen partitian nameplate, that hooks over the top of your workspace divider. BUT at the end of the day does it really matter, 'a rose is a rose by any other name'.
