Yorkshire manufacturer Andel heads ‘down under’ to beat Brexit
21-09-2018
Huddersfield-based Andel, Britain’s largest manufacturer of specialist in-building water, oil and gas leak detection systems, is pursuing further growth in overseas markets following its global success which has seen exports grow 20 per cent year-on-year.
The move will see Andel representatives visiting Australia, Singapore and the Netherlands this month alone in order to meet its international distributors and showcase products to new and existing customers.
Andel’s commercial director, Mark Harris is attending ARBS 2018 in Sydney, Australia’s only international air conditioning, refrigeration and building services trade exhibition. ARBS showcases hundreds of new products and technologies to over 9,000 visitors, including Andel’s unique FLOODLINE™ leak detection system.
Andel’s FLOODLINE™ leak detection services can allow early action to prevent damage, reduce disruption and limit loss caused by water leaks. FLOODLINE™ monitors concealed pipework for both water and refrigerant gas leaks from air conditioning systems as well monitoring for humidity and temperature spikes and the system is proving extremely popular in Australia and other warmer climes.
Andel is exhibiting alongside its exclusive distributor in Australia, UAP Cooling, Australia's premier provider of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and Data Centre Products.
Mark Harris, commercial director at Andel, said: “Exports play a huge part in our growth strategy. They are up 20 per cent year-on-year and we want to continue to capitalise on this by working with key distributors overseas to reach new and growing markets.
“We are increasingly looking outside the Eurozone for future growth in light of Brexit and are embarking on a sustained export drive to take advantage of the weaker pound.
“We started exporting to Australia two and half years ago and our sales there have been building steadily ever since. We are also growing significantly in Singapore. Visiting key distributors overseas reinforces our relationships and underlines our commitment to supporting them. I look forward to meeting key contacts and customers in their home territories.”
Jonathan Tomlin, national sales manager - leak detection and environmental monitoring at UAP Cooling, said: "Leak detection is a key part of our product offering, and Andel’s range allows us to offer our clients rock solid protection for all the key potential risk areas of their infrastructure. To reinforce this, Andel provide excellent technical support and service, and Mark Harris' visit to support us at ARBS highlights their commitment to UAP Cooling. We are proud to represent them in Australasia."
