The tough outer mesh net protects and keeps the material in place as the spaghetti strip polypropylene absorbent attract viscous oil based liquids deeply into the boom. Spaghetti Booms are normally used in fast currents and cold waters. In cold water applications, the oil thickens and the open net and the spaghetti like strips allows the oil to penetrate deeply and quickly. Rope running along length of Boom adds strength for deployment and retrieval. Strong, zinc-plated carbon steel attachment clips and rings allow you to link Booms quickly to form a continuous barrier. Oil-Only Polypropylene fill is highly absorbent and selective in absorbing oil-based spills. Tough outer mesh resists snagging and debris while remaining flexible.
