Ormiston Wire Limited was originally established in 1793 by James Ormiston, an enterprising young Scotsman. Six generations later, under the leadership of descendent Mark Ormiston, Ormiston Wire remain an independent and family-run business.

We started in the City of London, producing spring-wire suitable for corsets and wigs. This was in the days before rubber. We currently have manufacturing facilities based in Isleworth, west London as well as Redditch in the Midlands.

At Ormiston Wire Ltd we pride ourselves in being able to manufacture almost any type of wire which can be suitable for almost any type of application. Our manufacturing processes is able to accommodate either ferrous or non-ferrous wire or strands, to any size or length. They can include facilities for rolling, winding, rewinding, braiding, bunching, spooling, stranding and plastic coating, according to specification.
